The countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), in the face of the events that have occurred in the sisterly country of Bolivia, wish to express their support for the Bolivian Government and institutions at a time when actions led by radical groups are attempting to affect and ignore their constitutionality.
The ALBA-TCP countries reject the violent actions of leaders who call themselves civic and who seek to interrupt the constitutional order and call on the Armed Forces and the National Police to ignore the Government of President Evo Morales.
The public denunciation made by the Government of the Plurinational State of Bolivia that an attempted coup d’état is in process is decisive. In this sense, the ALBA-TCP countries join the denunciation and reiterate their support for the institutions, the people and the Bolivian democracy led by Evo Morales.
The ALBA-TCP countries, faithful to their principles, condemn the use of violence as a political weapon; reaffirm their support and solidarity with the Constitutional Government of President Evo Morales Ayma; and express their hope that peace and tranquility will return in the sisterly country of Bolivia.
